No More Native American Nicknames for High Schools

The Oregon Board of Education is giving schools with Native American names and mascots five years to remove these offensive representations or risk losing state funding.  Eight schools now face the creative battle of deciding on a new nickname while seven schools need only to modify or change their mascot.   Many smaller communities are resistant as they believe their nicknames are a source of pride.

Softball - Willamina at Western Mennonite

April 23, 2012 - The Willamina Bulldogs varsity softball team traveled to Western Mennonite High School and picked up the 8-3 win over the Pioneers.  This win increases their overall record to 8-3 and their league record to 4-2.  The Pioneers overall record is 7-2 and they are undefeated in league play with a record of 5-0.
